A soldier was shot during a tribal clash involving the Waja and Lunguda tribes in Nyuwar community, Balanga council of Gombe State
The clash occurred on Tuesday on the Adamawa border of the community.
Nyuwar is about two hours drive from Gombe, the capital of Gombe State.
According to The Nation, an eyewitness, Edwin Alokhi said violence broke out earlier in the day when Waja youths attacked Nyuwar, shooting one of the soldiers stationed to maintain peace in the community after the April, last year attack.
Alokhi said the youths, who outnumbered the security operatives, later went on rampage setting houses on fire and attacking women and children.
