Gombe governor’s aide resigns

Gombe Governor, Inuwa Yahaya

The Special Adviser to Gombe State Governor Inuwa Yahaya on Inter-Governmental Relations, Alhaji Garba Jijji Gadam, has resigned his position.

His resignation is coming on the heels of similar resignation from the government by Hajiya Dijatu Bappah, Special Adviser to the Governor on Social Investment Programme and another party chieftain, Jamil Isyaka Gwamna, early this month.

In his resignation letter dated February 7, 2022, addressed to the governor, Gadam said his resignation was with immediate effect.

“With much honour and respect to your office, I wish to put up my resignation from your government under your able leadership. This is on a personal ground with effect from the date above,” he said.

Bappa, in her resignation letter dated February 1, 2022, also said the resignation was with immediate effect.

Similarly, Gombe business mogul and All Progressives Congress (APC), stalwart Dr Jamil Isyaka Gwamna has resigned his membership of the party.

Gwamna was a governorship aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) in the 2019 general election.

He defected from the party in 2019 and cross over to APC with his supporters to pave way for Governor Inuwa Yahaya election.

Gwamna was also a strong party stalwart who contested against former Governor Danjuma Goje in the defunct All Nigeria Peoples Party, ANPP in 2007.

In his letter of resignation addressed to Jekadafari Ward APC Chairman, Dr Gwamna said his decision to resign from the APC was after wide consultations with his family, political associates and supporters.

The letter read: “I write with all sense of humility and respect to notify you of my decision to resign from the ruling All Progressives Congress.”

“my supporters. I appreciate all the privileges I enjoyed at the party while I was a member and I wish the party well.”
