In the Vretet-Zamga-Ngoshe triangle in the general area of Kirawa on the Nigeria-Cameroon border, troops of the Multi-National Joint Task Force (MNJTF) have neutralized Boko Haram/ISWAP militants, while many others fled with bullet wounds.

Colonel Mohammed Dole, Chief of Military Public Information Headquarters, Multi-National Joint Task Force, N’Djamena Chad, said in a statement that a substantial number of materials and diverse food items were found during the operation.

It stated that the items include an AK47 rifle, 01 AK47 magazine, ammunitions of the 7.62mm special variant, 21 bicycles, one BHT uniform, 39 bags of millet and two bags of beans, saying that an intelligence analysis indicated that the items were being smuggled from the borders to Sambisa forest.

The statement said that the terrorists are stockpiling materials for the incoming month of Ramadan, adding that further exploitation of the engagement areas showed traces of blood, evidence of BHT/ISWAP criminals removed corpses of their dead colleagues while two corpses of Boko Haram criminals were discovered.

The statement further explained that the Force Commander (FC) MNJTF, Major General Abdul Khalifah Ibrahim, hailed the Commander Sector 1, headquarters (HQs), Mora (Cameroon), Brigadier General Bouba Dobekreo, for the display of courage and gallantry by the troops, as they continue to conduct special operations to combat the insurgents.

He urged them to remain committed, bold, unpredictable and to continue to dominate the area, by ensuring that BHT/ISWAP terrorists are cut off from any logistics resupply.

General Ibrahim assured that HQs MNJTF would make concerted efforts to ensure that all the sectors get the equipment that were allotted to them recently in order to effectively carry out their official reassignment successfully.
