More than 22,000 people applied online to work for Prof Chukwuma Soludo, the new governor of Anambra State, according to reports.
The former Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) governor will on March 17 be inaugurated as the next governor of the state, after Chief Willie Obiano.
Soludo had two weeks ago opened a portal for those interested to serve in his government to apply.
He referred to them as problem solvers, urging them to state-specific problems they can solve for the state.
A media assistant to Soludo, Mr Joe Anatune, said applications received for jobs had clocked 22,000 as of Monday, February 28.
Anatune said the online talent hunt was a kind of data bank that would be retained by the state government to identify the sector each applicant would be employed.
He said, “This is not a one-off thing but a kind of employment bank or database from which applicants are engaged depending on the demand for such job specifications.”
