Abuja Electricity Distribution Company has apologised to customers in its franchise area over the grid collapse, which occurred on Monday.
Mr Donald Etim, the AEDC’s Chief Marketing Officer, gave the apology in a statement issued in Abuja on Monday.
He said that there was a general outage across the AEDC network at 10:40 a.m. on Monday due to a system collapse that occurred in the national grid.
“Appropriate measures are now being taken to restore normal supply as quickly as possible.
“We sincerely apologise for the inconveniences,” Etim said.
Meanwhile, the national grid, on Monday, experienced its second collapse in 2022 resulting in blackout across the country.
The states affected include Lagos, Enugu, Kaduna, Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu, and Imo States, among others.
Confirming the development in a text message to its customers, The Eko Electricity Distribution Company, said that the system collapse occurred on the national grid at 10:40 am.
