APC Convention: Five aspirants purchase chairmanship forms

BREAKING: APC NWC receives Edo Gov primary result

Five candidates have acquired Expression of Interest and Nomination forms for the All Progressives Congress (APC) chairmanship ahead of the party’s National Convention.

The selling of the forms was announced by Prof. Al-Mustapha Ussiju, the party’s Director of Organization, the APC Caretaker Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee, in a statement on Tuesday.

Malam Saliu Mustapha and Abdullahi Adamu, a former Governor of Nasarawa, are among the five candidates who have acquired chairmanship forms.

Tanko Al-Makura, a former Governor of Nasarawa, and George Akume, Minister of Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs, are among the others.

A former Governor of Zamfara, Mr Abdulaziz Yari, from the North-East, has also obtained the form despite the party’s leadership zoning the position to the North-Central.

From the North East, a former Governor of Borno State, Sen. Ali Modu Sheriff, is rumoured to be mulling acquiring chairmanship forms from the party’s national secretariat to contest in the 26th March 2022 convention.

The convention is expected to witness about 4,000 delegates from across the country where new national executives will be elected to manage the party’s affairs.
