Police in Ogun State on Monday paraded 15 alleged offenders for kidnapping, murder, armed robbery, and other offenses.
Lanre Bankole, the Commissioner of Police in Ogun, revealed that the offenders were apprehended at various locations with the police’s diligent efforts while parading them at the police headquarters in Eleweran, Abeokuta.
Bankole informed reporters that his team captured 15 people with various firearms in March.
Among those exhibited was Saheed Ogundahun, a local hunter who allegedly killed a Fulani herdsman in Ewekoro and hid his body in the bush.
Sulaimon Mohammed and Jato Bello, two accused kidnappers, were also paraded by Bankole for a string of kidnappings in Abeokuta.
The duo were accused of kidnapping one Ajibola Salimot on February 17 at her house along Rounder, Abeokuta.
He added that they were also responsible for the abduction and two siblings, Esther Kehinde and David Kehinde in Ayetoro.
Also, a group of suspected armed robbers – Moruf Abiodun, Fisayo Aliu, Usman Adeyemi, Daud Lekan and Afeez Adesina were paraded by the police boss for allegedly snatching a Toyota Corolla car in Iperu area of Ogun State.
The CP also presented to the media two self-acclaimed church founders, who were arrested for ‘killing’ a church member in Ogun.
He informed that the co-founders of Christian Fellowship Group, Life Builders Network, Chidi Samuel and Paul Zakari, were arrested by the Ogun State police command for allegedly killing one Favour Okumazor in Oyan village, Imala, Abeokuta North.
The suspect, according to Bankole, would be prosecuted as soon as investigations are completed.
