A popular cattle merchant has been killed by gunmen who also abducted his wife and two of his sons on Wednesday March 23, in Jalingo, Taraba State capital.
According to Daily Trust, Alhaji Gidado Hassan, who is a leading cattle merchant in Jalingo, was attacked at his residence at Mallam Audu village around 2am.
The gunmen numbering about twelve forced their way into the house of the merchant. It was also gathered that while the assailants were leading the merchant and his family members to an unknown location they shot him dead and left his lifeless body behind.
Gidado Hassan was buried at Jika Da Dari main burial ground at about 9.30 am on Thursday March 24.
The state police Spokesperson, DSP Usman Abdullahi, has also confirmed the incident.
