Three members of a known kidnapping racket were apprehended in Igbokoda, the headquarters of Ilaje Local Area in Ondo State, by security personnel in the state.
Yusuf Muhammad, Shende Jesse, and Fabiyi Fatai were identified as the suspects.
According to reports, the individuals were apprehended after their suspicious activities in the vicinity were followed.
One of the suspects, Muhammad, a native of Akungba-Akoko, but resident in Akure, said he was in Igbokoda to get a gun from one Alade before going for kidnap operation in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State capital.
According to him, he had participated in three kidnappings with ransom collected.
“I came to meet Alade in Igbokoda to get a gun before we proceed to Ado Ekiti for the kidnapping.
”I have been in the business since the year 2020, in which we have successfully carried out about three operations in Delta State.
“In the first operation, we collected N1.2million from the victim, N800,000 from second operation and 2.5million in the third operation.”
Speaking on the arrest, the Publicity Secretary of Ilaje Leadership Forum, Emorioloye Owolemi commended security agencies for arresting the suspected kidnappers.
