The Jigawa State Government has approved a two-hour reduction in official working hours in the state.
This was confirmed in a statement issued to journalists on Monday by the State Head of the Civil Service, Alhaji Hussaini Ali Kila.
According to the statement, the reduction in working hours began on Tuesday, following the start of Ramadan fasting.
According to the statement, “Civil Servants in the State are now to report to the office from 9am and close by 3pm while on Friday are to close by 1pm.”
He explained that the reduction of the working hours is aimed at providing more opportunities to civil servants to prepare for their Ramadan break.
Also to have ample time to observe their spiritual activities in the Holy Month.
He, therefore, urged civil servants to use the Ramadan period to pray for God’s guidance and blessings for the state.
