Barring any last-minute changes, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo will reveal his views on the 2023 presidential election on Saturday.
According to Daily Post, a top presidential source revealed that Osinbajo believes the moment has come to confront the 2023 problem in relation to his ambition, given the closeness of the election.
It is unclear if the nation’s number two man would express an interest in running or stand aside because of his allegiance to a former Lagos Governor, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who is thought to be his political godfather.
Tinubu has since declared his candidacy for the number one position and has begun consultations.
Many organisations have come out in favor of Osinbajo’s candidacy, despite the fact that the Vice President has yet to make a firm announcement on his 2023 ambition.
Recently, Osinbajo’s spokesman, Laolu Akande, had dismissed claims that his principal would contest for the 2023 Presidential election.
