As the battle against COVID-19 continues, Nigeria has recorded 59 new cases of the deadly disease in five states and the federal capital territory (FCT).
This was announced by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) in its daily update for April 6.
According to the agency, a breakdown of the infections is presented below: Kwara-29, Lagos-17, FCT-7, Rivers-3, Cross River-2 and Kaduna-1.
Twelve persons were said to have been discharged after they recovered from the infection. No COVID death was recorded.
The agency said the report includes data for April 5 and 6.
Nigeria now has recorded a total of 255,575 infections, 249,686 recoveries and 3,142 deaths across the country.
