Ralf Rangnick, Manchester United’s interim manager, has picked Fred, a midfielder, as one of his squad’s most underrated players.
Fred scored a goal in Man United’s 1-1 tie with Leicester City in the Premier League.
Rangnick believes the Brazilian international adds a diverse set of skills to the team.
Speaking about Fred ahead of Man United’s Premier League tie with Everton on Saturday afternoon, Rangnick told the club’s website: “He is the type of player that if you want to play a proactive style of football then he has a lot of assets that you need.
“He’s always trying to win balls and is always on the front foot. He’s one of the most underestimated players in possession of the ball.
“He can score goals, give assists and that is why he is also regularly playing for Brazil. I’m not surprised at his development.”
Fred joined Man United from Ukraine club, Shakhtar Donetsk, in 2018 during Jose Mourinho’s regime at Old Trafford.
