Bandits invaded communities in Plateau State’s Kanam Local Government Area on Sunday, setting homes on fire and abducting many people.
The villages assaulted, according to a source who spoke to newsmen, were Kukawa, Gyanbahu, Dungur, and Keram.
On Sunday, he claimed, several individuals were killed and several houses were burned in those towns.
Mr Adam Musalawa, a resident of Kukawa village, confirmed the tragedy on Sunday, saying that many people were also hurt in the attack.
Several residents, he claims, have fled their houses as a result of the attack.
He added that security operatives were unavailable during the attack, thereby giving the bandits free time to operate.
ASP Ubah Gabriel, the spokesperson of the state police command, did not respond to calls and text messages sent to him.
