Four kidnapped female Zamfara students regain freedom

Four female students from the College of Health Science and Technology in Zamfara State who were kidnapped recently by unknown gunmen have been released.

This was confirmed by the institution’s Deputy Provost, Jamilu Lawali, in a press statement issued on Thursday night.

The four female students were released by their kidnappers on Thursday near Tsafe town, according to the statement.

He said that no ransom was paid as a result of the operation.

“They were released this evening at a location close to Tsafe town of the State, the school did not pay any ransom for their release,” he stated.

According to him, the four students are currently at a hospital he did not disclose receiving medical treatment.

Recall that about two days ago, some unidentified gunmen suspected to be terrorists abducted five female students of Zamfara State College of Health Science Technology but one escaped and four were whisked away to an unknown destination.

The State Police Command had confirmed the incident, saying that efforts were being made by the security operatives to secure their release frоm the bandits.
