Renowned Islamic organisation, The Nasrul Lahi-L-Fatih Society Agency for Zakat and Sadaqat (NAZAS) has disclosed thay it was able raise not less than N60 million between 2019 and 2022.
Chairman of the agency, FCT Zone, Alh. Isiaq Ajibola, who made the disclosure at a special Ramadan lecture organised by the society, said the fund was disbursed to over 450 beneficiaries.
He implored Nigerians to promote unity and peace at various levels of communities during and after the one-month Ramadan so as to have a better country.
Ajibola said over N40 million had been disbursed in terms of empowerment grants, trade support consisting of distribution of Keke Napep tricycles, grinding machines and motorcycles among others.
He added over N5 million was also disbursed as medical support and assistance, and N2 million for the education of disadvantaged students; provision of two boreholes in two suburb communities; distribution of clothes and food items to over 300 persons in internally displaced persons camps and visits to hospitals and Dawah.
The NAZAS chairman called on well-meaning Nigerians to ensure that their Zakat were properly donated in order to reap the benefits on earth and the hereafter.
Delivering the lecture with the theme, ‘Secret of Success in Life: Lessons from Ramadan’, Imam Shuaib Mustapha Agbarere, implored Muslims to take harmonious relationship in their communities as something important.
