The Coalition of Southern and Middle Belt Youth Leaders Assembly, COSMBYLA, the umbrella body of all the youth groups in South South, South West, South East and Middle Belt regions have called on President Muhammadu Buhari to immediately tender his resignation letter over the killing of over 20 persons by Fulani herders in Waya, Jato-Aka, Turan and villages in Mbabuande and Mbapa council wards of Kwande and Gwer West Local Government Area of Benue state.

The group said the renewed killing by the Fulani herdsmen confirms that they are on a mission to swipe out the indigenous people of Benue state in order to take over their ancestral lands with the backing of the powers that be.

The group made this known In a statement signed by Terrence Kuanum, Coordinator, Forum of Middle Belt Youth Presidents, Honourable Goodluck  Ibem, President General, Coalition of South East Youth Leaders (COSEYL), Leader of COSMBYLA among others.

The group said when the soldiers and other security agents were alerted over the incident, the did not chase after the killer herdsmen, rather they were only interested in combing the buses to recover the bodies of Benue indigenes killed by the Fulani herdsmen. This points to one thing.

“Since the series of attacks in Benue state by murderous Fulani terrorists parading as herdsmen in the state, no single murderous Fulani herdsmen have been arrested or neutralized by the soldiers the same way the neutralized criminal elements like Gana boys who are indigenes of Benue state.

“The killings in Benue state is a strong confirmation that the country lacks a President and a commander-in-Chief of the armed forces. It is never heard of or seen anywhere in the world that untrained criminals and murderers will defeat trained soldiers in battle, unless the is compromise on the part of the armed forces.

“This is over 6 years the Murderous Fulani terrorists turned Benue state into a killing field were the practice how to kill their follow human beings under the watchful eyes of President Muhammadu Buhari who promised Nigerians change in 2015 and no single murderous Fulani herdsmen have been arrested and prosecuted in connection to the killings in the state and other parts of the country.

“President Buhari has failed woefully in the oath of office he took to defend the  constitution of the federal republic of Nigeria . He has no business being in Aso Rock as Commander-in-Chief . He should resign immediately and over to a more competent hand who can run the affairs of the nation and restore back the peoples confidence in government.

“Under this government of Buhari, Nigeria has been turned to a laughing stock among the comity of Nations. Anyone that presents a Nigerian passports outside the shores of this country is seen as a citizen of a failed state where human life is meaningless. What a shame!.

“Nigerians are seen as cows and no longer as human beings outside the shores of Nigeria. We are really in a mess for bringing in a man as President who knows nothing about the act of governance. An American citizen in kindergarten as President in Nigeria will perform far more better than what we have today in Nigeria.

“We therefore call on President Muhammadu Buhari to heed to the call by eminent Nigerians and resign as the president of Nigeria and hand over to a more competent hand who have what it takes to deliver the country out of the woods.

“But if he fails to heed to the voice of reasoning we will have no option that to occupy the streets lawfully in Mass protests until he resigns. Enough said!” he said
