The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Yobe Command, has deployed 565 personnel to the state to ensure a smooth Sallah celebration.
Bala Garba, the Command’s Public Relations Officer, revealed this in a statement made available to journalists in Damaturu.
He stated that the State Commandant of the Corps, Useni David Navokhi, directed all Heads of Departments, Units, Area Commanders, and the 17 Divisional Officers at the State Command Headquarters Damaturu to be proactive and security-conscious in the discharge of their duties prior to, during, and after the Eid celebrations.
Useni also directed that all Eid grounds within the state be manned by officers and men of the Corps before Sallah day to stem the tide of criminal activities, the statement said.
While commending the efforts of officers and men of the Corps in the fight against insurgents and other social vices in the state, the Commandant reiterated the need to deploy more intelligence operatives to places like Geidam, Yunusari and Bade local governments to ensure the protection of lives and property, particularly in this festive period.
“Cmdt Useni lastly advises all mischief-makers in Yobe State to desist from doing evil or be ready to suffer its consequences and called on all and sundry to always assist security agencies with useful information that will help to unravel the activities of miscreants in the State”, the statement added.
