Two operatives of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) and two other villagers have been killed in separate attacks in Benue State.
Witnesses said that the security personnel were killed while on duty on Friday at a waterside vicinity in Wadata axis of Makurdi Local Government Area, while the villagers were hacked to death in Logo LGA of the state.
According to Daily Trust, a resident said that the NSCDC personnel encountered some armed invaders who opened fire on them while a community leader who pleaded anonymity, said the other two deceased were attacked on Thursday evening at Tse Tume in Turan council ward of Logo while they were working on their farm.
The community leader gave their names as Terkende Injarwua and Mfaiga Ukor, adding that their corpse had been recovered and buried on Friday.
The NSCDC Public Relations Officer, Michael Ejelikwu, is yet to comment on the incident as at the time of filling this report.
The State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Catherine Anene, on her part, said, “That was not reported to me.”
