The Emir of Zazzau, Ambassador Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, suspended four district heads immediately after Eid-el-Fitr for violating the Emirate’s horse riding rules.
This was stated by his media and publicity officer, Abdullahi Aliyu Kwarbai, in a statement issued on Tuesday in Zaria, Kaduna.
The statement named the suspended district heads as Uban Garin Zazzau and District head of Soba, Alhaji Bashir Shehu Idris; and Sarkin Dajin Zazzau and District Head of Kubau, Alhaji Shehu Umar Aliyu.
Others were; Birnin Zazzau and member Kaduna State House of Assembly representing Zaria constituency, Alhaji Suleiman Ibrahim Dabo; and Garkuwan kudun Zazzau and Bursar, FCE Zaria, Alhaji Muhammad Sani Uwais, adding that the suspension was with immediate effect.
According to the statement, the suspended district heads violated article three of the emirate rules and regulations governing durbar horse riding.
It said the rule directed all titleholders against the use of local thugs known as ‘Yan Tauri’ brandishing local weapons during any occasion.
He said the four district heads had violated this rule during the traditional Sallah durbar, despite a series of warnings.
