Three policemen and a commercial motorcyclist have been killed by gunmen suspected to be kidnappers in Suleja, Niger State.
According to Daily Trust, the incident happened around 11pm on Thursday.
The policemen were reportedly responding to a distress call when they were ambushed near a place called Old Barracks.
“They were ambushed by the gunmen, who seemed to be expecting their arrival,” a source said.
Suleja Council Chairman, Abdullahi Shuaibu Maje, who confirmed the incident, said about three persons, including a vigilante member, survived the attack.
He said they were currently being treated at a hospital in the area.
The state police spokesperson, DSP Wasiu Abiodun, could not be reached as at the time of filling this report.
