Academic activities at Ekiti State University in Ado-Ekiti (EKSU) will resume on Tuesday, May 24.
On Monday, Director of Information and Corporate Affairs Bode Olofinmuagun issued a statement to that effect.
The decision to resume was made at a Monday meeting.
The impact of the ongoing strike by all four staff unions was discussed, according to Olofinmuagun.
Since February, the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has been on strike.
According to an EKSU spokesman, the administration is concerned about the pains that students and parents are experiencing.
He explained that one academic session of admission (2021/2022) is still open, and the second semester of 2020/2021 is still open.
“Moreover, the admission process for the 2022/2023 academic session will commence soonest,” he said.
The statement added that the school management decided to reopen in the interest of students, parents, guardians, society and its survival.
