Senator Ike Ekweremadu, the former Deputy Senate President, has denied allegations that he had defected to the Labour Party.
On Friday, there was speculation that the Senator had defected to the Labour Party after withdrawing from the Peoples Democratic Party’s governorship primary contest in Enugu State.
According to a report by Daily Post, Ekweremadu’s media aide, Uche Anichukwu, stated that it was a complete lie.
He also published a brief remark advising the general public to dismiss the allegations.
The statement reads, “Our attention has been drawn to an online misinformation to the effect that former Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Ike Ekweremadu, has joined the Labour Party.
“This is false and should be disregarded.”
