Ambassador Chris Giwa, a member of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Plateau State, has won the party’s nomination to represent the Plateau North Senatorial zone in 2023.
Out of the three candidates, Giwa received 213 votes, defeating Hon. Mafeng Gwalson, who received 150 votes.
Hon. Lumumba Dah Adeh, the third candidate, had previously withdrawn from the race prior to the start of the election.
Hon. Musa Gidado, Chairman of the Electoral Panel, announced the results and advised the candidates to work together to win the secondary election.
In response, Giwa thanked all stakeholders and delegates for their support and promised that he would do everything in his power to guarantee that the party won the secondary election.
Also speaking, Gwalson promised to collapse his structure for the winner and make sure he delivers at the secondary polls.
