2023 Presidency: Fani-Kayode tells APC best way to defeat Atiku

A former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode, has advised the ruling All Progressive Congress, APC,  on the best way to defeat the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Atiku Abubakar in the 2023 election.

WITHIN NIGERIA had earlier reported that Atiku polled 371 votes to defeat other frontline aspirants – Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike and a former Senate President, Bukola Saraki who polled 237 and 70 votes at the primary election conducted at the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja on Saturday.

This publication reported that Sokoto State Governor Aminu Tambuwal stepped down for Atiku before voting commenced.

Reacting to the development, Fani-Kayode, who congratulated Atiku after emerging the PDP presidential flagbearer on Saturday, said the APC must field a northerner if they must defeat the former Vice President.

He wrote on Twitter, “Congratulations to @atiku. Not only is he a formidable candidate but he comes from a zone that has not produced a democratically-elected President for 62 years. This is justice.

“@OfficialAPCNg MUST field a NORTHERNER if we want to win. Whichever way, a hard fight lies ahead.”
