Niger APC Rep Member, Idris Garba wins fifth term ticket

Hon. Abdullahi Idris Garba (Maisolar), has won the All Progressives Congress, APC, primary election, for the House of Representatives as he eyes a fifth term in the hallowed chamber.

Garba is a a four-time member of the lower legislative chamber representing Kontagora, Wushishi Mashegu and Mariga federal constituency of Niger State.

The Returning Officer, Ado Abdulkarim, while announcing the results in Kontagora, declared that the incumbent lawmaker polled 216 votes, while his rival Suleiman Mazakuka got zero votes.

Abdulkarim stated that four votes were invalid.

The winner of the primary, who is the Campaign Director-General of Governor Sani Bello’s senatorial ambition, in his address, noted with satisfaction the peaceful conduct of the primaries.

He assured Governor Sani Bello of victory during the election as APC flag bearer.

According to him, “I want to appreciate the delegates and my constituency for finding me worthy to be voted for the fifth time to the national assembly. The victory is not mine alone, but for the entire constituency and I will consolidate in achieving more development.”

“In the house, I will be one of the most experienced in the next assembly and with the zoning of speakership to the North Central, I am confident of getting it and will bring more developmental to the zone.”
