With only a few days until the ruling All Progressives Congress’s (APC) special convention for presidential primaries, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, Chairman of the Southern Governors’ Forum and Governor of Ondo State, has re-emphasized the importance of the party’s ticket being zoned to the south.
The APC, according to Akeredolu, should disregard the unwritten north-south rotation agreement.
Akeredolu, who is also Chairman of the Southwest Governors’ Forum, was named Chairman of Security and Compliance for the party’s special convention on Wednesday evening.
In a short message posted on his personal Facebook page on Thursday, the Governor reiterated his colleagues in the Southern Nigeria Governors’ Forum’s position that power should come to the south.
He also stated that the party must work hard to keep power by rotating the presidency to the south.
The APC, according to Akeredolu, must be prepared to rotate power, adding that it must come to the south.
