As the crisis rocking All Progressives Congress in Enugu state continues to deepen the State Publicity Secretary of the party Chief, Charles-Solo Ako, today said that the party has not cancelled the Uzo-Uwani/Igbo-Etiti House of Representatives primary election which held Friday last week.
In a statement made available to Within Nigeria on Thursday the party instructed one Eunice Atuejide, who lost out in the election to stop spreading lies claiming that the election was cancelled by the electoral panel and that another date has been fixed for it.
The statement equally said that Chief Samuel Ekwueme, who scored 92 votes to beat Atuejide, with 39 votes is the flagbearer of the party in the Constituency for the 2023 general elections.
The statement equally described as falsehood, the claim by Atuejide, that the state chairman of the party, Ugochukwu Agballa, and the party’s gubernatorial candidate, Uche Nnaji, have endorsed her as the candidate of the party for the 2023 House the Representatives election in the Constituency.
While condemning Atuejide for attempting to scuttle the election, the statement equally read “The activities of Eunice Atuejide, including the video evidence of her brazen scuffle to scuttle the democratic process of our great party and the collective will of our party faithful have been thoroughly examined by the State Working Committee and the State Executive Committee of our great party-The All Progressives Congress-APC, Enugu State.
“The State Working Committee and the State Executive Committee hereby condemn in strong terms, Eunice Atuejide’s conducts during and after the just concluded House of the Representatives primary election.
“She is warned henceforth to stop dragging the personalities of our state chairman, and our governor-hopeful, and indeed all the APC faithful to her mess. We distance our identity from people with ignoble and questionable character,” part of the statementFromd.
