Bandits kidnap ex-Electoral Commissioner, brother in Zamfara

A former permanent Commissioner of Zamfara State Independent Electoral Commission (ZASIEC), Hon Sanusi Wanzamai Sanusi, has been abducted by bandits.

According to DAILY POST, he was abducted on Monday evening at Gidan-Giye village, along Gusau-Tsafe -Wanzamai road, few kilometers away from Tsafe town.

Wanzamai was kidnapped alongside his younger brother.

The former permanent Commissioner was trying to fix his car which developed problem while the bandits were on the prowl.

“They swooped on him and took them to their hideout inside the forest,” the source said.

However, the State’s police Public Relations Officer, SP Mohammed Shehu, has not issued a statement concerning the matter.

The incident is coming barely 48 hours after bandits abducted wives of former accountant general and 20 others in the state.
