The Senate leader, Yahaya Abdullahi, has resigned his membership of the ruling All progressives Congress (APC).
He has now joined the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kebbi State.
The defection of the APC stalwart is coming hours before the party picks its presidential candidate for 2023 general elections.
Its special convention and presidential primaries is currently going on in Abuja
The reason for Abdullahi’s defection is not of public knowledge yet but it may not be unconnected to the internal wrangling that has plagued the Kebbi chapter of the party in recent times.
