Ronaldo vs Messi: Toni Kroos gives verdict on better player

Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo at previous Ballon d'Or

Toni Kroos, a Real Madrid midfielder, has stated that he does not consider Lionel Messi of PSG or Cristiano Ronaldo of Manchester United to be superior to one another.

Kroos went on to say that comparing Messi and Ronaldo is difficult, and that he considers AC Milan legend Clarence Seedorf to be among the greatest of all time.

The debate between Messi and Ronaldo has raged on for well over a decade, with no end in sight.

Both Ballon D’Or winners have been bringing out the best in one another and are vying for individual awards.

“There are so many players in every generation who have achieved great things, Clarence Seedorf, who won the Champions League with three different clubs, comes to mind,” Kroos was quoted by MARCA saying.

“There is no doubt that Cristiano [Ronaldo] is one of the best in history. The same happens with Leo Messi. But I don’t see one [of them] as better. Because it is difficult to compare who does what on the field and how the game has changed over the decades.”

He added, “From my playing days, it’s Cristiano Ronaldo (best player of all time). Of course, I am biased because he made a decisive contribution to us winning a lot of titles. It was exciting and impressive to play alongside Ronaldo.

“We were not only team-mates but also neighbours in the dressing room and neighbours in private. He lived right next to me. Seeing what a perfectionist he is was impressive. That is why its forbidden for me to name Messi (as the best player of all time).”
