Residents of Wurakum in Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State have decried exhumation of corpses from graveyards in the area by ritualists.

Speaking with Daily Trust, the community leader, Aminu Ahmad Babayo, said it was unfortunate that dead people who were buried were being exhumed by wicked people for reasons best known to them.

Babayo said that on several occasions on the night corpses were buried, that day or subsequent days, graves would be tampered with.

He said, “In some cases, when the corpses are exhumed, body parts would be removed, and in some other cases, the graves would be dug and something inserted inserted in them, possibly for ritual purposes.”
