Senator Abdullahi Adamu, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress has congratulated the governor-elect of Ekiti State, Biodun Oyebanji over his landslide victory at the poll on Saturday.
In a statement issued by his media aide, Muhammad Nata’ala Keffi, in Abuja on Sunday, Adamu disclosed that the election was a test of Oyebanji’s character.
Adamu said, “The victory was the result of the popularity of Oyebanji’s candidature as well as the strong campaign strategies put in place by the APC.
“He has the pedigree, experience and vision to take Ekiti State to the next level of development.”
Adamu also thanked the people of Ekiti State for reposing their confidence in the party and Oyebanji.
This is even as he pledged that the new governor will continue to implement the people oriented programmes of the Party as already started by the outgoing governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi.
“In this first election to be held after he became National Chairman, the victory recorded at the election was a precursor to expected victories of the APC at the Osun election later this year and at the 2023 general elections,” he noted.
The chairman paid glowing tribute to the leadership of the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), who as leader of the APC, provided guidance for the Party going into the Ekiti State election.
According to the APC national chairman, he had promised the President that the party will continue to be guided by his wisdom in prosecuting all future elections for the consolidation of his legacies.
While urging the governor-elect to be magnanimous in victory as he sets out to deliver on the mandate of the people of Ekiti State, Adamu expressed appreciation to members of the Ekiti State APC campaign council led by Governor Atiku Bagudu; State Working Committee as well as all APC supporters in the state for their hard work, dedication and vigilance which led to the victory.
