Hasan Salihamidzic, the director of Bayern Munich, has responded to speculation linking Cristiano Ronaldo with a move to the German Bundesliga champions.
According to reports in Europe, the Bundesliga club wants to capitalize on the 37-year-dissatisfaction old’s at Manchester United in order to entice him to move to Germany.
In a disjointed United team that finished sixth in the Premier League last season, Ronaldo scored 24 goals in 38 appearances.
Now, the Portuguese legend is said to be frustrated with United’s lack of activity in the transfer market this summer.
Ronaldo has watched Manchester City, Liverpool, and even Arsenal and Tottenham add new players to their squad while United are yet to complete a single signing.
Ronaldo is not willing to spend another trophyless season at Old Trafford and has been linked with a move to Bayern Munich in recent days but club chief Salihamidzic has denied the rumours.
He says the German giants will not be pursuing Ronaldo this summer.
“Cristiano Ronaldo is a top player with an outstanding career. However, stories on a potential deal with Bayern are not true,” he told Sky Germany. “These rumours have no truth.’
