Gary Neville, a Manchester United legend, has criticised Liverpool after Mohammed Salah signed a new contract at Anfield.
Neville said that with his new long-term contract, the Egyptian forward had ‘played’ Liverpool.
Salah’s time at the Reds was extended by the club yesterday after several months of speculation, and he will now stay until 2025.
Salah’s new weekly salary is more than £350,000, making him the highest-paid player in Liverpool history.
Mohamed Salah ‘played’ Liverpool, according to Manchester United veteran Neville, with his new long-term contract.
Salah’s previous contract was set to expire at the end of next season, and negotiations over a new deal had been drawn out for over a year.
“Salah has played them hasn’t he,” Neville tweeted, followed by a series of laughing and winking emojis.
