The presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi has revealed how his administration will tackle insecurity if he is elected Nigeria’s President in 2023.
Obi disclosed that his administration will engage two methods to restore safety to every parts of the country.
He stated this while speaking with BBC Pidgin on Sunday.
The former Anambra State governor stated that the first thing his administration would do is to pull Nigerians out of poverty.
Obi explained that there would be less criminal activities in the country if poverty is alleviated.
The second method is to ensure the availability of adequate measures for all security agencies which would help them to discharge their duties properly.
He said, “Our commitment is to deal with insecurity decisively in two ways. The first is to pull people out of poverty. The more you pull people out of poverty, the more you reduce criminality.
“Secondly, to provide adequate measure for security agencies to effectively do their works and we will make sure they do their work”
