A terror suspect who escaped from the Kuje prison has been captured by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).
In the past week, the penitentiary was assaulted by a large number of insurgents.
According to a statement that was released by spokesman Femi Babafemi on Monday, the wanted terrorist Suleiman Sidi was taken into custody in the early hours of Abuja.
Sidi was arrested as he attempted to board a commercial vehicle in the Area 1 motor park in order to travel to Maiduguri in the state of Borno.
During a search conducted by agents of the NDLEA, he was discovered to be in possession of cannabis sativa wraps.
During preliminary interview, the terror suspect confirmed he was remanded at the Medium Security Correctional Centre in Kuje.
Sidi is facing charges bordering on terrorism and robbery.
NDLEA Chairman, Brig. Gen. Buba Marwa (Retd) has directed his transfer to the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS).
