Chidera Ejuke, a player for the Super Eagles, has moved on loan from CSKA Moscow to Hertha Berlin.
The arrival of this player was announced by Hertha on its website on Wednesday.
The Nigerian claimed he joined the team to increase their likelihood of taking home trophies.
“I’m looking forward to playing for Hertha, to the Bundesliga and this special challenge. I want to do my bit in helping the club achieve its goals,” said the 24-year-old after joining the ‘Old Lady’ from Moscow.
“Chidera has proven himself in several European leagues already, and brings good skills alongside speed and versatility. We’re sure that he’ll improve our game with his abilities,” Fredi Bobic said on the attacker’s arrival, who feels best on the left
Ejuke, a Nigerian international, has played 65 competitive games since the summer of 2020 in Russia, amassing 10 goals and assisting on eight others.
The attacker has eight caps for the Super Eagles so far after being nominated for the senior Nigerian national team in October 2020 due to his performances.
Prior to moving to Russia, the right-footed attacker competed in the Eredivisie for SC Heerenveen, where he assisted on 16 goals across 29 games in the 2019–20 campaign. Prior to that, Ejuke played for Vlerenga Fotball in Norway from 2017 to 2019, making 69 appearances while tallying 15 goals and 6 assists.
In his native Nigeria, the attacking midfielder made the transition to the professional game, playing first for Supreme Court FC and then Gombe United.
