The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for this Saturday’s governorship election in Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has said the state government declined their request to use public facilities in the state for his mega rally.
Adeleke said the PDP applied for approval to use the Osogbo City Stadium or Freedom Park in Osogbo, the state capital, but the request were not granted.
Adeleke made the disclosure while addressing newsmen in Osogbo on Wednesday.
He said he personally pleaded with Governor Adegboyega Oyetola to allow him to use the Osogbo City Stadium or Freedom Park for his mega rally but the permission was not granted.
“For our mega rally, we are expecting PDP presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, and some governors. I won’t tell you the names of the governors that are coming.
“The PDP national campaign committee for the Osun election is showing commitment to his campaign,” he said.
However, The Commissioner for Information in the state, Funke Egbemode, told Daily Trust that the Osogbo City Stadium and the Freedom Park had been granted to other people before Adeleke applied and that one venue could not be given to two applicants at the same time.
