The operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have stormed Osun State to curb vote buying in the state governorship election holding today.
As at 8:15am on Saturday, the operatives were still at the Freedom Park, Old Garage, Osogbo, the State capital.
Recall that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) promised to work with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to stem the tide of vote-buying by politicians in the country.
INEC had warned politicians to desist from the act, saying anyone arrested for buying votes during elections would be prosecuted.
INEC also assured that the commission would ensure transparent, credible, free and fair election and appealed to security agencies and the political class to continue to join hands with it to tackle the menace of vote-buying in the country.
