Calvin Bassey arrived in Amsterdam on Sunday afternoon to undergo medical tests before joining Eredivisie champions Ajax.
Ajax have already agreed to pay Glasgow Rangers €22 million plus €5 million in add-ons for the versatile defender.
“Calvin Bassey, landed in Amsterdam right now together with his agents in order to undergo medical tests and sign contract as new Ajax player. Done deal,” wrote transfer market expert Fabrizio Romano on Sunday on Twitter.
Bassey was pursued by several Premier League teams as well, but Ajax made the decision to sign him.
The 22-year-old will take Lisandro Martinez’s place, an Argentine international who has joined Manchester United.
The player, whom Rangers acquired from Leicester City two years ago for just £230,000, is generating enormous profits for the club.
