Ogun monarch reveals why it is a taboo to fish in Oluweri river

The Obelu of Esure, a town in the Ijebu East Government Area of Ogun State, Oba Olalekan Kasali has revealed why it is a taboo to fish in Oluweri river.

This was made known by the monarch while recounting his journey to the throne and his achievements in an interview with The PUNCH.

The royal father disclosed that the Odo Oluweri is a very popular river.

According to the monarch, there are fishes in the river.

“But if you go there to fish, the fish will never get cooked, no matter how long you try. The river has been serving the community before boreholes came. It cures some diseases”, the monarch added.
