2023: Amaechi denies plan to dump APC, knocks Magnus Abe

Rotimi Amaechi

The All Progressives Congress, APC in Rivers State, on Wednesday insisted that the former Minister of Transportation, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi has no plan to leave the party.

Amaechi, the APC state party leader and former Presidential aspirant also affirmed that he remains a loyal member of the party.

This declaration is against the backdrop of rumours making the rounds that Amaechi has dumped the APC.

The state APC spokesman, Senibo Chris Finebone disclosed this at a press conference held in Port Harcourt, Rivers State capital.

He said, “Let me use this opportunity to raise the alarm that just yesterday, (Tuesday) evil people launched fake news concerning our leader, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, purporting that he has resigned from the APC.

“He remains a loyal member of the APC and he has re-iterated this at every opportunity and that he would work to ensure the Party resoundingly wins the 2023 elections”.

Finebone also alleged that former Senator Magnus Abe connived with the state Governor, Nyesom Wike to destabilize the state APC over the years.

Explaining the reasons behind the unprecedented movement of members from the party, the publicity secretary of APC in the state, Senibo Chris Finebone alleged that the departure of Abe from the party was after several attempts to factionalize the state APC.

Finebone noted that those from Abe’s camp who resigned from the party, were individuals who have, for the past couple of years, spoken and acted in every way to destroy the APC in Rivers State.

“Led by Abe, these persons tried all they could to factionalize our Party in the State. They connived endlessly with the governor of Rivers State and used some elements in the State Judiciary to frustrate and destroy our Party through needless litigations”.
