Xavi Hernandez, the manager of Barcelona, has been denied entry into the United States for the second time.

This implies that he won’t serve as the head coach for their opening preseason game against Inter Miami.

With the rest of the team, Xavi travelled to Barcelona’s airport on Saturday, but due to prior trips to Iran, he was unable to board the flight to the US.

Due to this, the LaLiga team made plans for Xavi to fly out to meet his team on Tuesday. He still hasn’t received the all-clear to leave, though.

Xavi was in Iran three times in the last five years, due to his former association with Qatari club Al Sadd both as a player and coach.

Due to Iran’s international relations with the United States, he was requested to provide additional documentation to justify his visits to the Middle Eastern nation.

Xavi has now missed at least four days of pre-season training with his players.

His brother, Oscar Hernandez, will be in charge when they face the MLS opponents, while the boss will be hopeful that his documentation is sorted in time to face Real Madrid in Las Vegas four days later.
