Kashim Shettima, the Vice Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) reportedly met with President Muhammadu Buhari behind closed doors at the State House, Abuja.
WITHIN NIGERIA learnt that the former Borno State Governor and his successor, Prof. Babagana Zulum, being ushered in to see the President at minutes before 04:00 pm on Wednesday.
The meeting comes hours after Shettima’s official unveiling as the running mate to the APC presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu.
Tinubu while visiting the President at his Daura home on July 10 had disclosed that he chose Shettima because “he is competent, capable and reliable”.
At the time, he disclosed that he was yet to inform Shettima about his emergence as running mate.
The Muslim-Muslim ticket floated by the standard bearer has drawn harsh criticisms from various groups nationwide.
Shettima did not speak to journalists after the meeting. Instead, he was ushered out of the Villa premises through a different route.
