Abubakar Mohammed, a 23-year-old Kuje prison escapee, was apprehended by the Adamawa State Police Command.

Abubakar, who is said to be facing terrorism charges and had been at the Kuje prison since 2017 prior to the recent escape, was apprehended in days of surveillance along with 12 other suspects.

According to the Adamawa State Police Command, Abubakar was attempting to return to his native home in the Bama Local Government Area of Borno State when he was apprehended near an Adamawa-Borno borderline.

In a press release signed personally by the Adamawa State Commissioner of Police, CP Sikiru Akande, the police stressed that Abubakar had disclosed that he had been in detention at the Kuje facility since 2017 over alleged involvement in terrorism.
