Cristiano Ronaldo held crucial talks in Sir Alex Ferguson’s presence on Tuesday, but he is still adamant that he will leave Manchester United this summer.
The captain of Portugal hasn’t participated in preseason workouts with Erik ten Hag’s team because his agent Jorge Mendes is working to find him a new team this summer.
Tuesday saw the arrival of Ronaldo and Mendes at United’s Carrington training facility for talks. Ferguson and United CEO Richard Arnold were also present.
In 2003, Ferguson brought a 17-year-old Ronaldo to Manchester, and he was instrumental in helping him develop into a star football player.
But after an opening round of talks, Ronaldo remains determined to leave Old Trafford and join another team, according to the Daily Telegraph.
United have been adamant that the former Real Madrid star will not be allowed to leave and will play a key role under Erik ten Hag this season.
