A mechanic known only as Friday was killed on Monday at the Arietalin axis of Yenagoa, the capital of Bayelsa State, during a rekindled cult war.
According to reports, the conflict started when two rival cult gangs exchanged gunfire over control of the region, which is notorious for crime due to its proximity to creeks and rivers.
According to a source who spoke to Daily Trust, it was unclear which of the rival gangs the murdered mechanic belonged to.
The police spokesman in the state, SP Asinim Butswat, said, “On July 25, 2022, at about 1300hrs policemen responded to a distress call about a cult clash on Arietalin Street, Yenagoa. On arrival the policemen discovered the body of a mechanic, one Friday with surname unknown who was shot by the cultists.
