The Ogun State Government has cancelled this month’s environmental sanitation exercise to give residents enough time to go and register for their Permanent Voters Cards (PVC).
The exercise, which was scheduled for Saturday, July 30, won’t take place in all 20 of the state’s local government areas.
A statement signed by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Environment, Engr Rasak Olabode Ojetola, said this cancellation would “allow residents of the state to participate in the ongoing National Voters Registration Exercise by the Independent National Electoral Commission.”
Ojetola said those who are yet to register or those who misplaced their voter’s cards or anyone who might need to travel to perfect their Permanent Voters Registration or transfer their cards are free to do so without hindrance.
“The exercise will resume next month,” the statement concluded.
Recall that the Ogun State Government had earlier declared Tuesday and Friday as work-free days for the collection of PVC.
