Jorginho, a Chelsea midfielder, surpassed the club’s former player Eden Hazard’s penalty record for the Blues over the weekend.
Jorginho accomplished the feat by scoring a penalty in Chelsea’s 1-0 win over Everton on Saturday.
Jorginho’s first-half penalty helped Chelsea defeat Everton at Goodison Park.
Jorginho’s penalty against Everton, however, means the Italy international has now scored 18 penalties for Chelsea, surpassing Hazard, who has 17.
Jorginho is now only behind Frank Lampard, who has 41 Premier League penalties goals for Chelsea.
Meanwhile, despite Everton’s defeat to Chelsea in the Premier League on Saturday, Alex Iwobi received high praise from Frank Lampard.
Iwobi, who played for 90 minutes, was one of Everton’s standout performers.
In the tightly contested match, the Nigerian international was deployed in central midfield.
Jorginho’s penalty in the first half was the difference between the two teams.
